Mr. Charles Kayumba is strong business development professional with an MBA in finance and well-known and much recognized as consultant and trainer in the microfinance sector in Rwanda. With more than 17 years of experience he performed on different positions in the sector of finance : accountant in former UBPR ; internal auditor in CLECAM EJOHEZA Plc ; AMIR certified Trainer by CGAP on Management system usable in SACCOs ; branch manager and later promoted as head of operations, managing director and finally Deputy CEO in charge of Business Development in DUTERIMBERE IMF PLC ; Managing Director and creator of AMIFA Rwanda Plc., subsidiary of AMIFA Holding in Rwanda.
By holding these positions, his demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry covers mainly : Risk Management, Business Development, Auditing, Executive Management, Corporate Governance, and Business Strategy. His close connection to the sector he also demonstrated through his role as vice chairman of AMIR Board of Directors for 5 years. In the years of 2011/2012 he was part of a consultancy, which initiated the U-SACCOS Managers at the very beginning of their operations.
Mr. Kayumba is currently working now as consultant, RICEM trainer & coach on MFIs key subjects like accounting and finance of microfinance, internal control & audit, MBG, risk management ; governance, loan management and delinquency, Anti-money laundering. At the same time he is part of an expert team, which is developing the curriculum for certified microfinance professional courses (CMP) at RICEM.
Charles Kayumba brings much expertise, when it comes to proposal writing activities and can apply that knowledge and these skills, in his training and consultancy assignments. He has a strong capacity in procedures redaction and has excellent communication skills. Charles speaks French, English, Swahili and as mother languages Kinyarwanda and Kirundi.
