On October 11, 2024, RICEM proudly participated in the 19th International Cooperative Day in Musanze District. It was an inspiring event that brought together cooperative members from all districts, with public and private stakeholders. This year’s celebration was a vibrant testament to cooperatives’ transformative power in improving their members’ lives and contributing to the country’s development.

During the exhibition, RICEM had the opportunity to showcase its comprehensive training modules tailored for Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and Microfinance Institutions (MFIs). Our presentation emphasized the essential skills and knowledge necessary for cooperatives to thrive in today’s dynamic market landscape. In addition to our training modules, we introduced attendees to our interactive offerings, including Micro-Business Game, Farmers’ Business Game, Financial Education and Saving Game, and Managing Climate-Resilient Business Game. Other cooperatives presented cooperative members’ creativity and entrepreneurial spirit through their products. This vibrant display not only celebrated achievements but also highlighted the diverse range of goods and services that cooperatives provide.

The keynote speakers emphasized the need for greater product diversification, innovative leadership, and robust marketing strategies. Their insights reinforced the critical role these factors play in enhancing competitiveness both locally and internationally. A highlight of the event was RICEM’s participation in honoring outstanding District Cooperative Officers (DCOs) who have excelled in their roles. This recognition underscored the importance of dedication and effective leadership within the cooperative sector, inspiring all to strive for excellence.

Overall, RICEM’s participation in the International Cooperative Day was a wonderful experience, allowing us to connect with individuals from various cooperatives and exchange valuable ideas. We are committed to continuing our work in supporting cooperatives in their journey for growth and sustainability.
