RICEM continues to play a leading role in advancing Rwanda’s financial inclusion agenda through strong collaboration with Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) and Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs). In partnership with sector leaders and decision-makers, RICEM remains committed to equipping professionals in the microfinance industry with the practical knowledge and technical skills needed to deliver sustainable, client-centered financial services across the country.

As part of this mission, RICEM implements the Certified Microfinance Professional Program Level One (Dual Apprenticeship) and Level Two. This nationally recognized program is designed to provide hands-on, competency-based training for both aspiring and in-service professionals working in SACCOs and MFIs. Through a combination of classroom instruction and workplace-based learning, the program enhances participants’ capabilities in key areas such as credit management, customer care, governance, compliance, and financial operations, and others.

RICEM’s collaboration with MFIs and SACCOs is not only a testament to shared commitment but also a strategic effort to professionalize the sector, improve institutional performance, and contribute to Rwanda’s broader goals of financial sector stability and inclusive economic growth. By nurturing the next generation of certified microfinance professionals, RICEM is helping to build stronger institutions that are better equipped to serve communities and empower lives.
