RICEM Driving Capacity for Cooperative Transformation Across Sectors.

As a national center of excellence in capacity building, the Rwanda Institute of Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship and Microfinance (RICEM) continues to play a vital role in strengthening the performance and sustainability of cooperatives across Rwanda.

RICEM’s interventions have supported a wide spectrum of cooperatives, including those in agriculture, livestock, savings and credit (SACCOs), mining, crafts, and services through targeted training, coaching, and enterprise development support. These programs focus on improving cooperative governance, financial management, records keeping, business planning, and access to markets and finance.
With a special emphasis on women- and youth-led cooperatives, RICEM ensures inclusive and transformative growth by equipping members with the skills and tools needed to lead successful, transparent, and competitive organizations.

Through its strategic and practical approach, RICEM is contributing significantly to the empowerment of cooperative enterprises, fostering economic resilience, and advancing inclusive development across all sectors.
