World Saving Week Celebration

As part of Rwanda’s World Savings Week celebrations, RICEM had the distinguished honor of hosting H.E. Heike Dettmann, the German Ambassador to Rwanda, and Mr. Stefan Küpper, CEO of Bildungswerk der Baden-Württembergischen Wirtschaft e.V. (BIWE). Their visit highlighted the importance of strengthening financial literacy and economic resilience among communities across the country.

During the visit, RICEM together with its long-standing partners DSIK and BIWE conducted an impactful financial literacy training for 60 women. The session focused on essential skills such as saving, loan management, budgeting, and responsible financial decision-making, all aimed at empowering women to secure greater control over their financial futures.

The participants gained practical tools to help them build stronger financial habits, confidently access financial services, and make informed choices that support their households and businesses. This initiative aligns closely with this year’s World Savings Week message :
“Save and Invest for Economic Resilience.”
