RICEM in collaboration with the Rwanda Cooperative Agency (RCA), officially launched the 2026 Post-Licensing Training Program for DSACCO Leaders and Staff on Monday, 19 January 2026. The five-day training is being conducted at RICEM Premises (Kabusunzu) in Kigali and will run until Friday, 23 January 2026.
This training is organized under the DSACCO Capacity Development Program approved by the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN), in partnership with key institutions including the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR), RCA, RICEM, and DSIK. The program focuses on strengthening institutional capacity within DSACCOs to promote sound financial management and sustainable growth.
The training brings together DSACCO board members, managers, and credit committee staff from different districts across the country, including Musanze, Gatsibo, Nyagatare, Nyamagabe, Ngoma, Rwamagana, Kirehe, Rulindo, and Kayonza. This broad participation highlights RICEM’s commitment to inclusive, nationwide capacity building for cooperative financial institutions.
The core objective of the training is to enhance participants’ competencies in loan management and portfolio analysis. Through practical sessions, case studies, and expert facilitation, participants are being equipped with essential skills to improve credit decision-making, strengthen portfolio quality, manage risks effectively, and enhance overall institutional performance.
Throughout the week, participants are actively engaging in interactive discussions and hands-on learning activities that address real operational challenges faced by DSACCOs. The training also provides an important platform for peer learning and experience sharing among cooperative leaders from various regions.
RICEM remains committed to supporting DSACCOs in strengthening governance, improving financial sustainability, and reinforcing internal control and risk management systems. By hosting this training, RICEM continues to position itself as a center of excellence for cooperative and microfinance capacity development in Rwanda.
