RICEM Celebrates the Graduation of 138 Certified Microfinance Professionals

The Rwanda Institute of Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship and Microfinance (RICEM), in collaboration with the Association of Microfinance Institutions in Rwanda (AMIR) and with the support of the German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation – Eastern Africa (DSIK), proudly celebrated the graduation of 138 Certified Microfinance Professionals (CMP) from the 2025–2026 intake during a ceremony held in Kigali.

The graduation marks the successful completion of a one-year professional journey under the Certified Microfinance Professional (CMP) Program. Throughout the program, participants strengthened their technical competencies, enhanced their practical skills, and deepened their understanding of professional standards, preparing them to make meaningful contributions to Rwanda’s growing microfinance sector. Graduates from both Level One and Level Two received professional certification in recognition of their achievement and readiness to serve the industry.

Held under the theme "Strengthening Professional Excellence and Advancing Skills Development in Rwanda’s Microfinance Sector," the ceremony brought together representatives from government institutions, development partners, microfinance institutions, industry leaders, graduates, and invited guests to celebrate this important milestone.

The event featured keynote addresses, presentations on the achievements of the CMP Program, recognition of outstanding performers, certificate awards, and reflections from graduates and stakeholders. It also served as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration among partners committed to advancing professional standards and financial inclusion in Rwanda.

The CMP Program continues to play a vital role in equipping young professionals with practical workplace experience and industry-relevant skills while supporting employment opportunities and sustainable growth within Rwanda’s financial sector.
RICEM extends its sincere appreciation to AMIR, DSIK, government institutions, development partners, participating microfinance institutions, facilitators, mentors, and all stakeholders whose continued support has made the program a success.
