The Micro Business Management Game trainings in Rwanda have seen significant success, leading to widespread adoption across the country. To ensure sustained impact, follow-up Group coaching sessions are conducted every four months. Recently, the Rwanda Institute of Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship, and Microfinance (RICEM) partnered with the German Spartassenstiftung Eastern Africa (DSIK) to host a Training of Coaches (TOC) workshop. This three-day event aimed to equip participants with coaching skills to support Micro Business Management Game participants in applying their knowledge and overcoming business challenges.

Led by master trainers Silas Ngaboyisonga and Uwangabiye Odette, the TOC covered various topics including communication skills, individual and group coaching methodologies, and practical exercises. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, fostering a dynamic learning environment. Despite time constraints for practice sessions, all 23 participants completed the workshop, expressing confidence in their ability to apply group coaching methodologies post-training.

During the workshop, the Managing Director of RICEM made a visit and encouraged participants to fully engage in the training to ensure they could deliver effectively when called upon for coaching sessions. Feedback from the end-of-workshop evaluation was overwhelmingly positive, with participants praising the content and methodology of the training. Participants left equipped with valuable coaching skills, poised to make a tangible impact in their communities, thereby contributing to the ongoing transformation of micro-business landscapes across the country.
