General questions :

How are the opening hours of RICEM ?
RICEM normally operates from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.

How can I get the easiest to RICEM ? Is there a bus ?
There is a bus station from the turning point going to RICEM. One stops at a place commonly called ‘Café Nyakabanda’ and take the paved route around 700 meters you at RICEM.

How can I make a request for a private celebration, like a wedding ?

Before training :

How can I apply for a course ?

It is possible to register online by visiting our E-learning platform. Or use the contact details that are mentioned in the course description for more information.

Can I apply for a course although I am an individual person ?

Yes absolutely, as long you ensure the payment of the training costs.

Which seminar or training is right for me ?

It will depend on the sector you are from and your respective level or position. We provide seminars for MFIs, Cooperatives or Entrepreneurship. Make sure that you belong to the target group, that is always mentioned in the outlines of the respective course. You have access to the full list of courses by clicking on ‘Training’.

Can I apply for several courses at the same time ?

Yes, people can apply for several courses at the same time.

Who is the right contact person for me if I have questions about a training ?

It depends on the kind of training. You can always find him/her on the respective course outlines or course description.

How can I pay for a course ?

Once you get admitted to a course. RICEM will send you admission letter with fees details and the Bank Account for your payment.

The training :

How long does an entire training/module last ?
Duration varies from module to module depending on the number of credits. A short-term course lasts from 2 to 5 days, depending on the content. For more information please have a look on the respective course outline.

What are the training times per day ?
Usually trainings start from 8:00AM and ends at 5:00PM, with adequate breaks in between.

What is the group size of the trainings ?
Maximum number for a class normally is 25 participants.

Who conducts trainings ?
RICEM has both full-time and part-time experts, who are well-experienced professionals in their field and specially trained to conduct those trainings.

How does RICEM ensure the quality of training ?
We make sure that our training materials are always updated, tailored to clients need. Our trainers have to sit for interviews to make sure there is content mastery of what they train about. We also conduct refresher courses to equip them with required methodology.

What is included in the registration fee ?
Normally it includes : Training fee and training manuals (hardcopy). If participants need accommodation and meals, this has to be paid additionally.

Is there a dress code at the training ?
There is no particular dress code for the training. However, participants are required to dress decently.

What do I need to bring to training ?
You don’t have to bring anything. It is all provided.

Do I need a laptop for the courses ?
For your personal research you can require a laptop. But for courses requiring use of computer, RICEM is equipped with a computer lab.

Are the courses in English or Kinyarwanda ?
Both alternatives are possible depending on the kind of participants. The language is mentioned in the course outline.

Do all training sessions take place on the RICEM site ?
Not necessarily. Participants can request RICEM to send trainers to their site, or RICEM may conduct online and mobile trainings as well.

Accommodation :

Does RICEM offer overnight accommodation for training participants ?
RICEM does provide overnight accommodation for the participants who express the need.

How do I get the room key if I arrive after opening hours ?
If participants arrive at RICEM, the officer in charge of the guest house will usher them and provide all the necessities.
